MiniW Beginner Guide

MiniW Beginner Guide

MiniW is the first wireless version of StreamDock. It is also an important new attempt for MiraBox to bring a more flexible setup experience to StreamDock users.

Because MiniW adds wireless connection support in a compact body, some details work differently from previous plug-and-play StreamDock devices. This guide explains the basic steps you should know before using it.

Before You Start

When you receive MiniW, the device is turned off by default.

This is designed to save battery power and improve shipping safety. Unlike previous wired StreamDock devices, MiniW does not start working immediately after being connected. The first thing you need to do is turn it on.

How to Power On and Off MiniW

On the top of MiniW, you can find two toggle switches, similar to the Mini model.

To power on the device:

  1. Press and hold either one of the two top toggle switches.
  2. Keep holding until the light and screen turn on.
  3. Release the switch after the device lights up.

Once the screen and lights are on, MiniW is powered on and ready to connect.

To power off the device:

  1. Press and hold either one of the two top toggle switches.
  2. Keep holding until the screen turns off.
  3. Release the switch after the screen goes dark.

When the screen is off, MiniW has been powered off.

How to Pair MiniW with Your Computer

MiniW has already been paired with its receiver before shipping.

In most cases, you do not need to pair it manually.

To connect MiniW:

  1. Turn on MiniW.
  2. Plug the receiver into a USB port on your computer.
  3. Wait for the device to connect automatically.
  4. After connection, MiniW will display the corresponding icons and functions.

This is the normal setup process for first-time use.

What If MiniW Is Not Recognized?

If MiniW is turned on and the receiver is plugged in, but the device is still not recognized, you can enter pairing mode manually.

To enter pairing mode:

  1. Press and hold both top toggle switches at the same time.
  2. Hold them for about 5 seconds.
  3. MiniW will enter pairing mode.
  4. When the receiver is detected, the device will automatically exit pairing mode.
  5. After pairing, MiniW will return to normal operation.

When to Contact Support

If MiniW still cannot connect after manual pairing, please contact technical support.

Before contacting support, you can also try:

  • Replugging the USB receiver
  • Restarting the StreamDock software
  • Restarting your computer
  • Charging MiniW before pairing again
  • Trying another USB port

If the issue continues, technical support can help check the device, receiver, firmware, and software status.

Final Thoughts

MiniW brings wireless support to the StreamDock lineup. Its setup process is slightly different from wired models, so remember to power on the device first, then plug in the receiver.
