How to Set Up the Touch Bar Function on N4 Pro

The Touch Bar is inspired by the Touch Bar design on Mac computers. On the VSDinside N4 Pro, it works as a customizable touch control area where you can place different StreamDock functions.

You can use the Touch Bar for quick actions, information display, or frequently used controls. For example, it can be used for:

  • Weather display
  • System performance monitoring
  • Lyrics display
  • Website shortcuts
  • Hotkey actions
  • Multimedia controls
  • Plugin functions
  • Touch-based button simulation

Most plugins and key functions support the Touch Bar, so many actions that can be added to the key area can also be used on the Touch Bar.

The Touch Bar can also work together with knob functions. However, when Touchbar Mode is enabled, knob icons will not be displayed on the device interface.

How to Add a Function to the Touch Bar

  1. Open the StreamDock software.
  2. Select your N4 Pro device.
  3. Select the scene you want to edit.
  4. Choose Touchbar Mode.
  5. Find the function you want from the right sidebar.
  6. Drag the function into the Touch Bar area.

For example, you can drag functions such as Website, Hotkey, Multimedia, Open, or plugin actions into the Touch Bar.

How to Edit Touch Bar Function Parameters

After adding a function to the Touch Bar, left-click the function module.

The function parameter panel will appear at the bottom of the StreamDock software. Depending on the function type, you can edit settings such as:

  • Title
  • URL
  • Hotkey
  • Open mode
  • Function action
  • Plugin settings
  • Click or long press behavior

This panel is mainly used to edit what the function does.

How to Open Touch Bar Module Settings

To adjust the appearance of a Touch Bar module, right-click the module and select TouchBar Settings.

This opens the Touch Bar module settings panel. These settings are mainly used to adjust the display style of the module.

Available settings may include:

  • Width
  • Transparency
  • Background color
  • Background image
  • Screen capture background
  • Border style
  • Border color
  • Border width

You can use these options to make each Touch Bar module easier to recognize or better match your N4 Pro setup.

Copy, Paste, and Delete Touch Bar Modules

When you right-click a Touch Bar module, you can also use:

  • Copy
  • Paste
  • Delete

These options are useful when you want to duplicate an existing module, reuse the same style, or remove a function you no longer need.

Important Notes

Before using the Touch Bar, keep these points in mind:

  • The Touch Bar is currently supported only on N4 Pro.
  • Touch Bar mode does not follow pages.
  • Each scene has only one Touch Bar.
  • Each Touch Bar has a limit on the number of function modules it can contain.
  • If the Touch Bar is full, you may need to remove an existing module before adding a new one.
  • The Touch Bar can work together with knob functions, but knob icons will not be displayed in Touchbar Mode.

Because the Touch Bar is scene-based, switching pages does not create a new Touch Bar layout. If you want to use a different Touch Bar setup, create or switch to another scene.

Final Thoughts

The N4 Pro Touch Bar gives you a flexible area for quick actions, information display, and custom controls. You can drag functions from the right sidebar into the Touch Bar, left-click a module to edit its function parameters, or right-click it to customize the module style.

Whether you use it for weather, system monitoring, lyrics, website links, hotkeys, media controls, app actions, or plugin functions, the Touch Bar can help make your StreamDock workflow more efficient.
